Formed in 2012, Scatter Their Own is an Alter-Native Rock Duo of Oglala Lakota ancestry from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation of South Dakota. Scatter Their Own has traveled from Canada to Texas, as well as journeyed from Los Angeles to New York City. Scattering their own music to all nations in all directions, Scotti Clifford (Guitarist and Vocalist) and Juliana Brown Eyes (Bassist and Vocalist) were a couple first. But before too long, after playing music together into the night, they realized that they should start a band. Occasionally joined by their teenage children on-stage, it becomes a family effort. Their children, Scotti June (Guitar) and Wahpe Waste Win (Drums), began to delve into their parents' love of music at the tender ages of 12 and 9. After of which, they soon began to perform professionally alongside their parents across North America.

Scotti refers to their music as a modern day buffalo hunt. "In order to provide for my family, we must follow the music. Through my endeavors, I hope to teach my children how to find balance, spiritually and professionally." As a modern day Lakota family who views movement as sacred, Scatter Their Own has no difficulty packing up their Tipi and guitars in order to follow the buffalo.

Aside from being a national touring act, who has appeared at 2015's SXSW Music Festival in Austin TX, Scatter Their Own is currently recording a new album. Their second independent album will peek in on the duo's charismatic connection onstage. This sophomore effort will showcase their endearing harmonies, coupled with moving anthems about their relationship to mother-earth, furthermore inviting you along on their mystical path. Like Scotti & Juliana, Scatter Their Own's music is diverse in influence and style, but bonded together by an undeniably creative journey.

For us, it is all about relationship. The more campfires that we can share as a world community, the stronger our unity. We want to expose the general public to our Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe by lyrically fusing the concepts and philosophy of our Native American Culture, along with our Bluesy Indie Rock foundation, a style that we have dubbed Alter-Native Rock & Roll. We want to alter the way America thinks about Native Culture in America. For example, we performed with John Trudell, as well as Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros at the 2015 SXSW Presented by: RYOT & Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros present The Native American Showcase. It was a good start, but we feel that we need to be immersed with other great national touring acts where our voice can continued to be heard! In representing modern day Native America, we want people to experience that we can throw down on stage with the best of them. We also want to give the message that "We Are One Race... The Human Race... We Should NOT Race One Another!"
